The Gay Alphabet (Gayphabet) was designed as a parody gay recruitment campaign. Initially designed for an art project by English students the clip has become a runaway viral success.

Many items in the gay alphabet, Brokeback Mountain, Elton John and Handlebar moustaches, are probably what you might expect. Perhaps the most surprising entry however is ‘Z’ for zucchini. I’m confused!

The clip successfully shows the idiocy of the right-wing ‘gay recruitment’ argument, using humour to diffuse heated and often hateful sentiment. Saying that gayness can be glamorised in order to recruit new members is absolutely ludicrous.
