Ft. Worth Police Raid Rainbow Lounge Gay Bar
Visitors to Texas gay club ‘the Rainbow Lounge’ were shocked when police raided the bar and arrested seven people on the 40 anniversary of the Stonewall riots. Clearly the timing of the raid seems to have been planned as a provocative stunt by city police to scare local gay people.
Police allege that the seven were arrested for public intoxication and for ‘inappropriately groping an officer’. The Million Gay March in Dallas turned into a protest against the unfair treatment by the police. Justin McCarthy who works in the bar said he has never seen such aggression from the police in all the years he has worked in the states gay bars.
