This clip is the testimony of Philip Spooner giving evidence for marriage equality in Maine. If an 86 year old ‘lifetime Republican’ can see that equality should be for everyone, I simply don’t understand how we are still debating whether two people who love one another should be allowed to marry.

This was a really moving speech by a lovely old man. His children should be extremely proud that their dad is still working for equality well into his retirement.

The rally took place on April 22, 2009 with over 3,000 marriage equality supporters in attendance.
