A Day in Hand

A Day in Hand is a project created by Dave Watkins calls on gay people to hold hands in public. This simple gesture means gay couples can be true to one another and promote the visibility of gay people in everyday life. Dave says “If you want to live in a world where you can hold your partner’s hand walking down the street, hold your partner’s hand walking down the street.” In other words ‘be the change’.

It’s interesting that as gay people we don’t just come out once, but instead have to come out over-and-over every day.

Thenewgay wrote a great post about gay hand holding. “You see one person walking a unicorn in the park and it’s headline news. Three months later you’ll see 200 people walking unicorns in the park and call it a Thursday.”
