Chely Wright on Coming Out (Oprah)
American Country Singer Chely Wright came out as a lesbian in People Magazine early last month. She is the first person from the genre to come out which possibly indicates the unacceptability of homosexuality in country music circles. Moreover Chely comes from Georgia, a red state, where the only thing more revered than country music is Sarah Palin*.

She is very brave to come out, and her father loves her unconditionally, I think she has a mixed message. Yes, she may love women or one woman, but it’s an abomination to God, the Bible teaches it’s a sin even to lust, and then you have the Sunday Christians that say it’s okay, just like they say it’s okay to eat pork, but it’s wrong. Sex is beautiful and can feel good but we have to restrain ourselves, find a man, get married or “Just say no”! It’s too many men on the DL, at least she’s brave, but there will be a Lake of Fire to think about so bravery has nothing to do with it.
